Fright Night Classics

I got this really great box set of cheesy old movies . . . I think my brother got them for us for Christmas one year. They are called “Fright Night Classics” and the set is comprised of 8 classic horror DVDs including : God Told Me To, The Hatchet Murders, Pieces, Don’t Look in the Basement, Silent Night, Bloody Night, The House by the Cemetery, Lady Frankenstein and The Thirsty Dead.

So far I have watched two of them and I have really enjoyed them. One I have a review for up on the sight, Don’t Look in the Basement. The other I watched was God Told Me To - but that was one wacky flick. I have to watch it again to do a review on that one. It was just far out man . . .

If you see the set, pick it up. It is good for an octet of horror viewing fun!

SLiTHER into the weekend . . .

This Friday is the opening of SLiTHER. This will be one that I will be out to see right away. Looks like it has just the right amount of cheese to make a real connoisseur the genre extremely happy.

I know that I have been fooled before, but hopefully not this time. I am holding out great hope for this little gem.

I mean, giant alien slugs, what could be better???!!

V is for WOW

I just got back from seeing V for Vendetta and I just have to say that it was one of the best movies I have seen in quite a while.

It both terrified and inspired me. With everything going on in America today it may be a bit of a wake up call for some.

Look for my review soon. I think I need to soak it in for a bit before I review it. Maybe even see it again . . .

But in case you don’t already know, I recommend you see it . . .

To Serve Man

One of my favorite Twighlight Zone episodes is on SciFi tomorrow night - or should I say Monday morning? To Serve Man. Just remember, things aren’t always as they seem . . .

The Triangle Part 1

I watched the first installment of the SciFi Originals miniseries The Triangle tonight. I have all three installments on my DVR. The first one sets up the story nicely. I’ll wait to do my review after watching all three, but I have to say after seeing the first installment I am actually intrigued . . . not to mention a bit impressed.

6-6-6

Oh boy, here it comes . . .

During the previews for the remake of The Hills Have Eyes, there was a trailer for Damien: The Omen remake. How perfect - it will be released on 06/06/06.

It was funny because as soon as I saw the dog, I knew what was coming next!

These remakes have been great and all, but can’t we get a little originality here? Okay Rob Zombie, when is your next flick coming out??? Or even M.Knight???

But through all my complaining, who will be in line to see the remake . . . me of course. And I know if we stop watching they will stop making but I just can’t help myself!

. . . but is the film industry doomed to just repeating itself?

The Hills Have Eyes

Okay, so the re-make of The Hills Have Eyes will be in theatres March 10 and of course I had to go out and get the original version. We actually were able to get the original 2-disc set and not the re-release which does not have all of the cool special features on it. Haven’t watched it yet but probably will tonight.

I am really excited to see Ted Levine in the film as I can never forget his performance as Buffalo Bill in The Silence of the Lambs! Everytime I see him on Monk I just freak out imagining him saying “It rubs the lotion on its skin . . . ”

Hopefully I will be able to see the remake in theatres this weekend.

. . . more SciFi Originals!

Tonight at 9 the SciFi Originals film Raptor makes it’s debut. Corbin Bernsen is starring . . . what could be finer?

Next Saturday at 9 the SciFi Orignals film Minotour - this one looks kinda interesting. Bet you there will be a whole heck of a lot of cheesy effects!

Resident Evil 3

Looks like the third installment in the Resident Evil franchise will begin shooting in May! I really enjoyed both Resident Evil: Ground Zero and Resident Evil: Nemesis . . . hopefully Resident Evil: Afterlife will keep up the good work. Click the link below to read an interview with Milla Jovovich on the upcoming film :
