The Mangler

I have got this little goodie recorded on my Replay TV. I am starting to get a little worried though as I am seeing blocks on my screen meaning that my cable was not cooperating at the time this movie was recorded. It could just lock up on me but I hope not. This looks like a good movie, based on Stephen King’s short story and directed by Tobe Hooper. This came out in 1995.

Wish me luck!

Today on SciFi

We are in for a long day of beast related horror TV from SciFi today. Starting with Jaws 2 through Jaws: The Revenge then moving onto Watchers 2 through Watchers: Reborn and ending this frenzy of fear with Rottweiler it is sure to be a day you will be able to sink your teeth into . . .

Sharks and dogs and more dogs . . . oh my

The Simpsons Ironic Punishment toy

Oh, I got to get me one of these . . .

This toy created by McFarlane Toys based on the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror IV entitled “The Devil and Homer Simpson”. It is actually a crank action, donut feeding machine which feeds Homer donut after donut.

Looks pretty cool . . . mmmmm. . . . donuts . . .

McFarlane Toys recently took over Simpson toy production from Playmate Toys.

A Haunting

There is an “A Haunting” marathon going on right now on the Discovery Channel. Already this evening I watched one on the haunting of a farmhouse in my old hometown of Seymour, CT. Kinda freaky! I didn’t even know it was there. Makes me want to go and visit the old stomping grounds and see if I can’t find it!

Connecticut in general is beleived to be a very haunted place. The demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren have lived there for years. Don’t know if it still is, but they used to have a museum of haunted things on their property in Monroe CT that you could tour.

I never did go to their house, but I did go to a lecture they gave once and they seem very genuine!

Grind House Update

Just saw a somewhat disturbing news article on bloody-disgusting.com that the Robert Rodriquez’s segment of Grind House has been possibly shut down for good? Not sure what to think of that little tid-bit right now, but that would be sad as it might mean a later (if at all) release date for the film.

Hmmmmm . . . or is this just some clever marketing scheme? It’s terrible, I feel so jaded even mentioning that. Damn you marketers . . .

Grind House

The new horror flick, Grind House due out December 2006 will feature two 75 minute movies. ONe by Quentin Tarantino which will be a slasher and one by Robert Rodriguez which will be a zombie based film.

With involvement from actors like Tom Savini, Danny Trejo, Rose McGowan and Lucy Lawless this seems like it should be quite interesting . . . can’t wait to see it!

SciFi is airing some teen horror movies tomorrow during the day. Gems like Final Destination, Cherry Falls and Jeepers Creepert (I and II). They also have one on called How to Make a Monster but I am not sure what that is all about. Guess I’ll have to watch it and see . . .

Carnival of Souls AKA Corridors of Evil

I have heard alot about this movie but have never actually seen it. Well, now I am watching it - we picked it up for like $7 at Circuit City.

Looks pretty interesting so far.

Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood

I am currently watching Friday the 13th VII: The New Blood. I have it on my DVR, it was on one of the movie channels tonight. Kane Hodder plays Jason Voorhees in this installment. He has much broader shoulders than I remembered . . .

eBay Stops Auction for Ed Gein’s Land

Looking to buy 40 acres of land in Wisconsin that also happens to have been the home to one of America’s most notorious serial killers, Ed Gein? You won’t be able to get it on eBay.

eBay has just pulled an auction off their site for Ed Gein’s home in Wisconsin because it conflicts with their “no murder memorabilia” policy.

According to the seller, he did receive one offer that was far below the asking price of $250,000.

I don’t know what the real estate market is like in Wisconsin, but I’m not sure this land is worth $250,000. It seems like alot of money for land that was once owned by a serial killer – the house he lived in is not even there anymore! Now if the house was still there, it might be a different story …

Lucio Fulci

Okay, so I have recenlty found that I am a big Lucio Fulci fan. Over the last couple of days I have watched two of his films ( Zombi 2 and The House by the Cemetery) and I have really enjoyed them immensely. It’s funny too because I had Zombi 2 from Netflix sitting around for a while and just watched it last night. I just happened to pick up The House by the Cemetary today out of that Fright Night Classics set I have. Isn’t that just a little wierd?!

At any rate, I found his Fulci bio on IMDB to be quite interesting. To learn more about Fulci click the link below:

Lucio Fulci

It’s too bad that we lost him in the mid-90’s he was quite obviously very talented and creative. Time to find more Fulci for me . . .
