I agree. I need reason for my gore - most of the time anyway.

Know what remake I actually liked? The Haunting (of Hillhouse) - but that might just be because I haven't seen the original or read the book it's based on. I am also a pretty big Lili Taylor fan so that might've had an influence. . .

It's just one of those movies I will watch whenever I find it flipping through the channels.

To be honest, I did like the Haunting remake. It kept it good and it came out before this "gold rush." I also like the alternate, House On Haunted Hill because I didn't know it was remake until a month afterward. I couldnt help it, I was ten. Dawn remake was good too because it had an awsome story line, good dialogue, gore, and scared some people I know (but not me). Because I was raised on these movies, it takes alot for me to jump out of my. Most of the time, I see it comming and I know what anlge it's comming at. Friday the 13th had no scare, as matter of fact, none of them did. This will either be as pointless as Jason X, or it will be scary and piss its fans off.

True, but we will still probably go to see it or rent the dvd or even buy it. So they will make another and another and another.

Don't get me wrong, I will be one of the ones watching so trust me, I'm not trying to put anyone down or anything. Just pointing out a little human nature!

Thats true, I'll end end up seeing it any way. I didn't mean to affend anybody. I'm just saying, have people run out of ideas for movies? I guesse we're the generation of remakes.

Well, it's like anything else, it goes in cycles. Like clothing fads, or music. Even decorating. Everything is "retro-this" and "retro-that".

Originality is scarce.

It is a fad. Most movies right now are part of fads. Right now it's;
1) Zombies (which I'm happy about)
2) Super heroes or comic characters
3) Movie adaptations of old shows
4) And last, Remakes

I have a question, out of every Friday the 13th movie, which one did Jason have the best costume? I say part 7, cause of how much detail it had with the bomes and because his jump suit was so torn up.

Even though the movie was pretty bad, I did like Jason's ensamble in Jason X. He just looked very menacing in a shiny sort of way . . .

In most of the other films he seemed to look the same to me. I will have to pay closer attention and get back to you on that one.

Yeah, Jason does look like a tyrant-power house in parts 7,8, and Freddy v.s Jason because he's not as vulnerable. I liked how he was more dangerous in ten. But I hated the whole "upgrade" situation. But over all, Jason is the kind of guy that you can't let out of your site, and you must stay more than nine feet out of his reach. But with freddy, just take some hypnosill.
