 . . . either that or I was just really tired. I mean I think at the time I was working like 3 jobs or something . . . hmmmmm

Re: Witches, Vampires, and Ghosts I actually used to live in an apartment building (6 apts.) and 5 of the apartments were inhabited by Wiccans. They used to do rituals and everything and were really into it. My belief is that the power of the mind is an amazing thing. I mean think about it, there are monks that can slow down their bodily functions just by thinking about it. On the flip side alot of people talk about how negative feelings can actually make you sick . . .

Re: Witches, Vampires, and Ghosts Sure! I mean, Wicca is a recognized religion (by the US Military, among other places) and there's Strega, etc.. Lots of pagan religions/beliefs. Can some of them do magickal/mystical things? Yeah, I believe so. I think alot of witchcraft has to do with the individual, not so much the recipe for a spell or whatever. I mean there's also voodoo and vodoun and those have been held to do amazing things. I feel it boils down to whether or not the person sincerely believes what they're doing and how much practice they have towards achieving success. Again, though, this is just based on my personal experience. :)

Re: Witches, Vampires, and Ghosts Regarding ghosts, I definitely believe that the souls of of the dead (though generally immaterial) can choose to hang around Earth - and this includes non-humans such as dogs, cats, etc.
As for vampires? I'm sure some people drink blood and all that but I doubt they live forever, though I do suppose since things like this are based on belief (to my feeling, atleast) then very strange things could be possible. As for magic (magick?) based on religions, I suppose it could work but it'd seem a bit ineffective. My particular perspective on the major religion's "power" is that it's sort of like a 'pool of belief' with the various believers feeding into it so yeah, I'd say it could be tapped if one wanted to. That's purely theoretical, of course. Those are just my thoughts based on my experiences. Yours may differ...

Re: Witches, Vampires, and Ghosts Do you believe in the magic based in the ancient "darkside" of Christianity? For instance, the worship and invokation of Satan and the lesser demons (Samael, Ariel, Lucifuge, etc.) as opposed to God, Jesus, and the Archangels? This is where witchcraft in most European traditions stemmed from and many, many books were written in the Middle Ages on the subject, ranging from grimoires (The Key of Solomon) to persecutive exposes (Malleus Maleticarum).
I'm notvery religious myself, but I do believe there are powers to be tapped into and energies that can be focused for "good" or "evil" purposes. I am very certain that Wicca is a bunch of crap, though. I think there is a real magic and power in the older forms of the craft and the practice of sincere worship. Any thoughts? :-o
