Hangman Props - Offensive?
Just wanted to get some input. New headlines came out last week in Virginia refarding a Baptist Reverend who is protesting a family's halloween decorations on their front lawn, more specifically, a Hangman prop. He said it is offensive in light of what happened in Jena, Louisiana and wants it taken down. He called the police department who showed up at the house, but apparently no one is home right now.

So, should I put out my Hangman on my yard haunt on the day of Halloween only? Do you think I will have any backlash?

Well, it all depends on how you feel about it. Is it offensive to you?

Yes, it is going to kill me! I have calculated the time, and two seconds is a hazard to my f*@#ing health.

Re: Hangman Props - Offensive?
I did some internet research and it looks like in the last 14 days there have been news headlines of complaints also in Indiana, Tennessee, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Georgia and Massachusetts. In every instance, these families removed the props. This world has become so politically correct - it makes me sick! First they were trying to push the "Let's give out healthy snacks on Halloween, and not give out candy, but give out raisins and figs". Come on people, lighten up! It's Halloween happens only once a year, the holiday is based on the dead, that includes ghosts, spirits, grim reapers, yes DEATH!

I have no idea what happened in Jenna, Louisianna, but what I think is this: If you want a noose you should have one.

And as for the healthy snack thing. What a load, isn't it? Are the kiddies expected to get all excited over the thought of a few nuts and raisons? I think a bag full of fruit etc. might get a bit heavy to carry around too.

I dont see how a hangman prop would offend anyone unless it was a noose. That might offend a homeboy:P. lol

Here's a pic of hangman prop:

If things are too gruesome, then look the other way.
You are only a kid once! And, in my case every Halloween!

BTW, if I end up with the news at my house, I will let you know, so you probably know more... hee hee... And, troll the message boards to defend myself!

I think a fruit for a treat might just warrant a trick, but that's just me . . .
