Re: The Amityville Horror Remake
Im with grave, never in my life have i seen the origional of this movie. But the remake seemed alright with me. Wasnt that bad.

And the prequal, seems to focus on why the mask is that mask, or his childhood or something.

You should definitely watch the original - then let me know what you think of it as it compares to the remake. It would be interesting to see what your opinion is as you watched the remake first. I watched the original first and really liked it (the original). I thought the remake was just okay.

Re: The Amityville Horror Remake
This wasn't the worst remake I've ever seen, but it wasn't that good, either. What's really starting to bother me are all of the Horror Movie Remakes from Michael Bay. He produced this one and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake and stylewise they both seem almost the same to me. They have this odd kind if "fast forward" feel to them in many scenes that I think is starting to get overused. I hope the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre Prequel (also from Michael Bay) has its own style and feel. Too much of the same can definitely get boring!

The Amityville Horror Remake
Does anyone else think this remake kinda left something to be desired? Don't get me wrong it had it's moments, but all in all it was a big let down for me. Why couldn't they have maybe kept the focus on the John Ketcham aspect and left out the religion? Seemed they were going down that road at first and it was obvious realism wasn't what they were going for.
