"Mother Of Tears" The latest from Dario Argento. I recently had a look at the trailer for this film and am not quite sure what to think. I am a huge fan of<br />Dario Argento's films. My favorites being a toss-up between Profondo Rosso,Suspiria(The first in the Mother trilogy),and Tenebre. I have always admired the Maestro's unique use of color schemes and innovative camera work. Of course Argento's film are also known for their amazing scores. The themes composed by Goblin being the most notable. I am not sure how he does it,but the man can turn images of death and murder into incredibly intricate and beautiful works of art.<br /><br />However,I have been very disappointed with his recent work(The Card Player. Do You Like Hitchcock. Sleepless. etc.). I am afraid the third Mother may follow this trend. Mother of tears stars Asia Argento(Dario's daughter) and Udo Kier(Suspiria. Mark of the Devil) both fine actors and Genre favorites. So we are off to a good start. What seems to be missing from this film(from what I gleaned from the trailer) are Argento's stylized visuals and imaginative scene framing. The trailer also features a very cliche and unimpressive score. I am hoping this is due to the trailer being edited for the US market.<br />But I am not going to get my hopes up. Anyhow, I would be very interested to read any opinions you folks have on this subject(if you have any.)
