I remember when I was a kid (probably somewhere around 11 or 12) I used to go to a place called Matthie's Park in CT and there were always rumors about how it was haunted or there were devil worshipers that practiced there at night.

One particular story I remember was one a friend of mine told me about The Devil's Swan.

Now you have to realize that Matthie's Park (not sure if I am spelling the name right actually) was pretty big. It had alot of trails and there was a pond which had an old house in the middle of it. You would actually have to use a boat of some sort to get out to it. While you walked on the trails there was this little stone structure that used to be some sort of old jailhouse (or so I was told) - that has nothing to do with the story, but it is kind of creepy.

Anyway, back on these trails there were little streams and in this one particular part there was a little waterfall. According to my friend there was a black swan (yep - the Devil's swan)that would appear along this stretch of the stream at 3:00am and 3:00pm and if you saw it go over the waterfall bad things would supposedly befall you.

Okay, so I was never actually brave enough to sit there around 3:00 am or pm to see this supposed Devil's swan but there was such an almost heavy menacing energy I felt in that park that I don't doubt that something strange was going on or went on at some point there.

Now I believe there is a school there or something but that place just freaked me out as a youngun . . .
