A reference to the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, Being Mrs. O'Leary's Cow was a particularly interesting episode . . .

. . . starring Chad Lowe as David Call- a man who is first and foremost a murderous husband, but secondly a talented airline pilot. A pilot who, in Allison's dreams, saves hundreds of lives sometime in the future. Hence Allison's dilema, does she help to nab him for the murder of his young wife, or does she let him get away with it to maybe save hundreds of lives sometime in the future?

As husband and sometimes disbeliever, Joe (Jake Weber) is quick to point out Allison's dreams do not always mean exactly what she interprets them to mean. And if this man really did kill his wife, he deserves no special treatment. By the end of the episode Allison comes to a resolution with her internal dilema and all is well in her little world again.

We also see more evidence of Bridgette's (Maria Lark) eccentric side as she spends most of this episode outfitted with a bright red bike helmet. She loves the helmet so much so that she even wears it to her school pictrues. This at first infuriates Joe, but by the end of the episode you can tell that he has accepted the fact that Bridgette is a unique and interesting individual whose eccentricities should be treasured. By the end of the episode Bridgette is onto yet another obsession which is a pair of bright red galoshes that she enjoys wearing so much that she just might wear them forever!

. . . ain't kids grand?
