Dr. Walker (Mark Sheppard) returns for another eery episode . . .
In this episode of Medium, entitled Doctor's Orders, Allison's dreams are again haunted by visions of the psychotic and murderous doctor from the 1800's, Dr. Walker who has set his sights on yet another young victim. The real question is - is it her daugher?
Ariel meets an older boy at school who is a bit sweet on her but Joe and Allison feel that she is too young to be dating a fourteen year old, seeing how she is only twelve and all. She is just devestated and seeks advice from a new school librarian (who really is no librarian at all but the evil Dr. Walker - you would know this if you had seen the episode entitled Penny for your Thoughts) who tells her that parents do not always need to know everything about their children's lives.
As Allison tries to figure out what Walker is up to, he is feverishly working at throwing her off his scent. But never underestimate the determination of a mother trying to defend her cubs (or other people's cubs for that matter).
The really interesting thing about this episode was the way they told the story in reverse. Starting with Allison being in jail, we slowly get the picture of how Walker has thrust himself into the Dubois' family life.
As this series goes on, I find myself more and more involved in the characters and storylines. I am especially impressed with the recurring roles and how the writing has led me to be extremely interested in the outcomes of their stories as well. And I have the feeling that this will not be the last we see of the good (well bad) doctor - he just doesn't seem like the type to give up a grudge to me.
