Grim - mind you this has nothing to do with fairy tales here kids. . .

They never quite explain what this Grim thing is supposed to be - I suppose some kind of demon from what I could gather. Either way it was big, ugly and apparently quite stinky seeing as how everyone always complained about a stench right before little Mr. Grim popped into the room.

We begin the film with a group of four friends, Steve (Jack Chancer), Katie (Kadamba Simmons), Wendy (Louise Hickson) and her boyfriend (Adam Tury) who are doing some sort of seance in what looks to be a shed. They unwittingly unlease Grim from his confines in the mines beneath the town. Townspeople begin to go missing, houses seem to be settling into the ground and there has been a fair amount of animal mutilation - at least according to Penny (Tres Hanley) who enlists a former lover, Rob (Emmanuel Xurereb) who also happens to be some sort of mine expert to help her in proving that the builder built the houses on top of mine shafts and need to be held responsible for all of the damage.

They decide to scout the underground mines to prove their point and are joined by Ken (Michael Fitzpatrick) and Trish (Nesba Crenshaw) - a couple who own a house in the area as well as Katie, Steve and Katie's sister Sarah (Jules De Jongh). Of course, Katie, Steve and Sarah know what they might be up against and the others have absoloutely no clue. It seems that Katie and Steve have some sort of psychic link with the demon and are both drawn to it and repulsed by it at the same time.

In the midst of much blood and gore which again mostly goes unexplained - Grim is chasing after the group and the group is trying to get away. Well most of them are but it seems as though Steve may have some other strange alterior motives. But I digress, what you really want to know is if Grim is worth watching, right?

The only way I can truthfully answer that is to say "sort of". I mean if you're not doing anything else and Grim happens to come on well then okay go ahead and watch away. However, if you are at the video store and trying to pick a good flick for the evening I'd say move along little doggy. Nuff said.
