Review - Medium: The Whole Truth

With today’s political climate, this Medium episode entitled The Whole Truth does little to restore my faith in the integrity of the everyday politician . . .

. . . but I digress . . .

So Allison (Patricia Arquette) is called onto the suicide scene of Assemblyman Henry Reickhoff (Paul Perri) who is found in a rather - how shall I put this - delicate position. Seems he has left himself hanging in more ways than one . . .or has he?

Allison has dreams of his death and they don’t quite seem like a suicide. Mrs. Reickhoff (Ruth Williamson) and the Assemblyman’s protege, Casey Edward Frank (Chris Messina) seem to both want this embarrassing situation to just go away, but both for very different reasons. But you know Allison, she’s like a dog with a bone and she sometimes cannot just leave well enough alone.

After costing the state a considerable amount of money trying to rescue a young boy (or as it turns out his skeleton) from a deep hole in the desert, Allison starts to put together quite a horrific scenario. A scenario which included Assemblyman Reickhoff, his protege and a scared, confused and angry young boy with a secret about some bad touches.

Although this episode was a bit predictable and it lacked the character development I so love about this show, it wasn’t all bad - I mean, I love The Rolling Stones, Sympathy for the Devil (Pleased to meet you - hope you’ve guessed my name, but what’s puzzling you is the nature of my game). But unfortunately even with that I have to say The Whole Truth was one of my least favorite episodes thus far.

Hint: Bring back the character development . . .

 Re: Medium: The Whole Truth
I have to disagree. I like this episode alot. Yes, it was missing some of the character development when it comes to the main characters of the show (Allison and her family), but I like the story characters in this one more than I usually do (the assemblyman, his assistant, his wife). Maybe like is not the right word (they were kind of evil, after all) but I definitely enjoyed them.

I also like the use of the Rolling Stones music. For a band I say I don't like, it seems like I always like their music when it's used in TV Shows or Movies -- maybe I can only take it in short bursts ...
