I laughed . . . I cried . . . I laughed until I cried . . .

What a great flick this was. It was different, it was entertaining, it was a zombie movie, it was a love story, it was a comedy. I am trying to think of something this film was not . . . okay, it was not bad, I'll give it that.

We begin Shaun of the Dead with our hero Shaun (Simon Pegg) being lectured in the Winchester (an old English pub with a Winchester hung above the bar - this comes in very handy later) by his girlfriend Liz (Kate Ashfield) and her friends David (Dylan Moran) and Dianne (Lucy Davis) about getting out and experiencing life. This is preferably without his best friend Ed (Nick Frost) who is a bit of a lead weight to Shaun ever rising above loserdom.

After Shaun messes up his big date with Liz and she dumps him, he begins to have what is bound to be the worst day of his life. But he does still have his best friend to make him feel better and as Ed says - "It's not the end of the world". . . or is it? You really begin to wonder when all of the dead start coming back to life and attacking the living just to eat them.

With a butt load of Night of the Living Dead references, some really great action sequences and just the right touch of sap, Shaun of the Dead is bound to be a cult classic. I am still grinning ear to ear just thinking about Ed's Clyde impersonation, not to mention why he is always so "sorry".

Watch it, watch it, watch it . . . what more can I say?

 Re: Shaun of the Dead
I have no choice but to agree...Shaun of the Dead has to be one of the most funniest takes on a movie I have ever seen. Its messed up though how he had to bust a "cap" in his mother...I had to pause for that , but then returned to dying of laughter.
