Resurrecting demons - another very unhealthy hobby . . .
Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings again takes us to Backwoods Country, USA where the hills have eyes in the form of an old witch and a half demon spawn hell bent on revenge. Like I always like to say in my reviews, sometimes a film is all about lessons. Lesson #1 - don't hit old witches with your hot rod vehicle. Lesson #2 - don't mess with an old witch's stuff. Lesson #3 - blood of the damned is never a good thing. And last but not least, Lesson #4 - never, never resurrect anything. Don't get me wrong there were several other lessons in the film, but these were the big ones.
Sean Braddock (Andrew Robinson) moves back to his old hometown to become sheriff after some trouble back east with his daughter, Jenny (Ami Dolenz - probably one of the most annoying female voices on screen). He thinks, what trouble could she get into in this little one horse town. As all us horror fans know, that is like damning yourself in a horror film. As Jenny starts to hang with the wrong crowd headed by the Judge's son Danny Dixon (J. Trevor Edmond), a familiar pattern begins to emerge.
Teens in a small town with nothing better to do always end up stirring up a little trouble. Unfortunately for the town, these kids stirred up trouble with the name of Pumpkinhead after they inadvertently set fire to the old witch's place in the mountains. It seems that Danny decides the group will finish what the old witch has started and try to bring back the buried body she has been tending with a spell they find at her place. Townspeople begin dying and there is a desperate attempt to stop what these kids have started before it is too late.
Some bad acting combined with an almost interesting story line make
Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings a so-so movie. Not a bad watch for a night of rented videos, but nothing really special here.
