Race with the Devil - this does not sound like a good idea . . .
. . . turns out that for two couples on their way to a Colorado skiing vacation, it isn't.
A group of friends, Frank Stewart (Warren Oates), Alice Stewart (Loretta Swit), Roger March (Peter Fonda) and Kelly March (Lara Parker), set out on the trip of a lifetime in one of those new fangled recreational vehicles. Along the way they decide to stop and enjoy a little good old fashioned country fresh air rather than stay at an RV park. After all, they went on this little rendevous to get away from people, right?
Unfortunately for the vacationing couples, the piece of paradise they had decided to park their camper on was but a stone's throw away from a satanic ritual hot spot. After an evening of too many dry martinis, Frank and Roger spend some time in the great outdoors and witness some sort of murderous satanic ritual. They are unsuccessful in trying to get the girls to turn off the lights quickly enough and are subsequently chased throughout the woods by a group of Satan worshipers. All I can say is they really know how to handle an RV (or do they?). The balance of the film is the group's efforts to outrun the natives and make it to Amarillo, Texas where they feel the big city police will be able to help them unravel the mystery of what they saw that night. It is evident that they don't really trust the local sheriff.
Whether they make it or not is something you will have to view the film to find out. I will say this however, that Race with the Devil was a very interesting movie and only goes to show you that if you have seen something you probably shouldn't have seen and are warned not to talk about it - you probably shouldn't talk about it - lest you suffer the consequences.
Again, it's all about life's little lessons!
