Top Five Goriest/Grossest Movie Moments

With tonight being Halloween it led me to thinking about my top five goriest/grossest movie moments. These are the top five that came to mind tonight . . .

5. Hannibal - There are several gory moments in this film, however I have to say the one that gave me the most pause was when you encounter Paul (Ray Liotta) sitting at the dining room table with his skull open being fed portions of his own brain that Hannibal himself is cooking right in front of him. That was just sick, sick and sick!

4. Silence of the Lambs - The scene where Hannibal is escaping from his cell as he wears the face of the guard he has slaughtered, fileted and left hanging like some cut of beef.

3. Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday - I would have to say that the scene where the doctor performing the autopsy eats Jason's heart was extremely gory and gross to me. The night I watched this film, I think I was actually getting a stomach flu because I actually threw up after watching that scene . . . or maybe it was the jello shots?

2. Eraserhead - Okay, the baby thing was disturbing enough and there were admitedly several very strange moments in this film. But perhaps the most strange and gory of them was when the baby thing keeps growing and growning and then just explodes.

1. Dead Alive (aka Braindead) - Which scene to pick in this film? That is the question. Do we choose the ultimate gory moment when Lionel finally goes berserk and brings out the lawnmower to mow down the room full of the undead? Or do we choose the zombies having sex and producing offspring? Or perhaps we go with the talking intestines? No matter which you pick, this film has got to win hands down for Goriest Movie Moments! Hard to believe this was directed by the same guy who brought us The Lord of the Rings, eh?
