The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror XVI was yet another home run hit out of the park for this little yellow cartoon family . . .

In it there were three separate horror themed stories - "B.I.: Bartificial Intelligence", "Survival of the Fattest" and "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face". Although I was unhappy to have to wait until the weekend after Halloween for the 16th annual edition of Treehouse of Horror, it was definitely worth the wait.

In "B.I.: Bartificial Intelligence", Bart jumps backward out of the window of his aunts' apartment window in his attempt at what seemed to be a backwards swan dive. Turns out he couldn't make it into the pool from the window as he boasted to Lisa that he could!

Flash forward and Bart is in a coma and Dr. Hibbard makes several jokes about how he can continue to bill the Simpsons for Bart's care but he is basically dead. He then suggest getting a robot son. Of course, they take him up on his suggestion and are all extremely happy with Bart's replacement. That is until, Bart comes out of his coma and returns to the home. Well, let's be honest then they still like his replacement better as we see the famed scene from A.I. and Homer is actually dropping Bart off in the woods.

Bart meets up with a clan of robot rejects and promptly steals all of their parts so he can make himself Mega-Bart and ends up slicing through Homer to destroy his nemesis.

In "Survival of the Fattest" Homer is invited to the home of Montgomery Burns where he soon finds that he and all of the other townsmen are to be hunted by Burns on a TV special. Interestingly enough, Marge says she should have known when they got this weeks edition of the TV Guide which features Homer running from Burns who is equipped with a big gun.

Terry Bradshaw commentates the show calling it a sport. At one point he actually exclaims that "it is this kind of excessive showboating that is going to turn people off of this sport" (or something very similar to that) when Burns shoots one of his prey over and over and over again.

As is usually the case, Marge saves the day as she bonks Burns and Smithers over the head with her sausage and onion smelling pans. She also bonks Homer on the head for being out for over 18 hours without so much as a phone call. Of course he cannot stay mad at her because of the aroma of the pans . . . drool . . .

In "I've Grown a Costume on Your Face" the entire town is turned into the costumes they are wearing by an angry witch. Mayor Quimby (cleverly costumed as Mayor McCheese) had just awarded her 1st prize for best costume which was a $100 certificate to the Kwik-E-Mart, unfortunately for the townspeople, when she revealed she was actually a witch they decided to strip her of her win due to the fact that she wasn't actually in costume.

She then cursed the town to forever be what they were dressed up as for real! We then are shown several hilarious scenes such as: Mayor Quimby being eaten by a pack of dogs; Bart (dressed as a werewolf) howling at the moon and eating rats; Lisa (dressed as Einstein) trying to analytically solve their problem; Homer (dressed as a headless man) trying to drink a soda; and Flanders (dressed as a flower) who has become the unhealthy love obsession of a bee.

In the end they realize that Maggie who spent Halloween costumed as a witch was now a real witch and could reverse the spell. Of course, Maggie had other ideas as she changed them all into gigantic binkies!

Oh Maggie, never grow up!
