The Omen (2006)

I saw another trailer for The Omen which is slated to open on 6/6/06. I can just say that the kid looks rather creepy and I cannot wait for this one. Although again, another remake.

Fingers crossed on this one!

The Reaping

When I went to see An American Haunting yesterday, I saw a trailer for a new movie coming out starring Hilary Swank. It’s called The Reaping and looks like it has the potential to be quite good.

Here’s the synopsis of the plot I found on IMDB:

Hilary Swank plays a former Christian missionary who lost her faith after her family was tragically killed, and has since become a world-renowned expert in disproving religious phenomena. But when she investigates a small Louisiana town that is suffering from what appear to be the Biblical plagues, she realizes that science cannot explain what is happening and she must regain her faith to combat dark forces threatening the community.

The Simpsons Ironic Punishment toy

Oh, I got to get me one of these . . .

This toy created by McFarlane Toys based on the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror IV entitled “The Devil and Homer Simpson”. It is actually a crank action, donut feeding machine which feeds Homer donut after donut.

Looks pretty cool . . . mmmmm. . . . donuts . . .

McFarlane Toys recently took over Simpson toy production from Playmate Toys.

Lucio Fulci

Okay, so I have recenlty found that I am a big Lucio Fulci fan. Over the last couple of days I have watched two of his films ( Zombi 2 and The House by the Cemetery) and I have really enjoyed them immensely. It’s funny too because I had Zombi 2 from Netflix sitting around for a while and just watched it last night. I just happened to pick up The House by the Cemetary today out of that Fright Night Classics set I have. Isn’t that just a little wierd?!

At any rate, I found his Fulci bio on IMDB to be quite interesting. To learn more about Fulci click the link below:

Lucio Fulci

It’s too bad that we lost him in the mid-90’s he was quite obviously very talented and creative. Time to find more Fulci for me . . .

Fright Night Classics

I got this really great box set of cheesy old movies . . . I think my brother got them for us for Christmas one year. They are called “Fright Night Classics” and the set is comprised of 8 classic horror DVDs including : God Told Me To, The Hatchet Murders, Pieces, Don’t Look in the Basement, Silent Night, Bloody Night, The House by the Cemetery, Lady Frankenstein and The Thirsty Dead.

So far I have watched two of them and I have really enjoyed them. One I have a review for up on the sight, Don’t Look in the Basement. The other I watched was God Told Me To - but that was one wacky flick. I have to watch it again to do a review on that one. It was just far out man . . .

If you see the set, pick it up. It is good for an octet of horror viewing fun!

V is for WOW

I just got back from seeing V for Vendetta and I just have to say that it was one of the best movies I have seen in quite a while.

It both terrified and inspired me. With everything going on in America today it may be a bit of a wake up call for some.

Look for my review soon. I think I need to soak it in for a bit before I review it. Maybe even see it again . . .

But in case you don’t already know, I recommend you see it . . .

Wolf Creek

I went and saw the movie Wolf Creek last night. I can only say - Wow - Aside from one or two things that made me go HMM?? it was a very, very good movie. But I didn’t know anything about it when I went to see it - other than the fact that it was based on actual events.

See more about the movie Wolf Creek by visiting the official movie website. I will also have a review up hopefully by tonight. But suffice it to say that I enjoyed it very much!

News of the King

. . .Stephen King that is . . .

According to the website cemeterydance.com our beloved Mr. King will be doing an eight part series entitled “Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King.” Sounds like an awesome series. Course I could be a little biased since King is one of my alltime favorite horror writers. It is slated for debut on TNT next June!

Cemeterydance.com and it’s section titled “Stephen King News” is a great website for all things Stephen King. There is also a section on the site called “Graven Images” that has some really macabre yet stunningly beautiful artwork.

Good stuff!

Also, take a gander at the entire site - it’s quite nice!

not horror in the typical sense . . .

If you are in the mood for something a little different, check out The Machinist with an emaciated Christian Bale. I just watched it last night and I am still a little blown away by it. I couldn’t stop staring at Bale’s bony little body! It was quite freakish.

Look for my review soon. But I wanted to get out the word right away. See this film it is very, very good!

Independence Day Twilight Zone Marathon

If you are a lover of Twilight Zone the TV show like I am be sure to check out the Twilight Zone marathon on Sci-Fi starting tonight at 11:00pm. It’s running all day on the 4th. Click the link below to learn more.

Twilight Zone Marathon on Sci-Fi!

I am a little disappointed because I didn’t see my favorite episode “The Howling Man” listed. They probably save that one for the New Year’s Eve Marathon!

Just as an aside - I have this little black bear with stars on it that plays the Twilight Zone tune when you press his little belly. He is a TV Tune Bear. I will be sure to have him by my side as I watch! Well, actually my husband probably will since I bought the bear as a gift for him a few years ago. . . Bear Hog!
